That Girl’s A Winner - 2008 IMDA Best Of Category - Closures

For the 12th year in a row Silgan White Cap LLC has won an IMDA (International Metal Decorators Association) award for outstanding metal lithography. This year’s award, “Best Of Category For Closures” went to L & S Packing Company’s 70mm DWB lug closure used on their Organic Pasta Sauce.

The winning closure features a beautiful picture of the Paesana Girl.

The name PAESANA signifies friendship, warmth and caring and the peasant girl is symbolic of Old World Italian charm, representing a quality product unlike any other. PAESANA was founded in 1902 by Luigi J. Scaramelli, Sr. who began Scaramelli & Co., a wholesale grocery business in Boston and New York and is now the award winning symbol of L & S Packing Company.
Michael Masenior, Executive Director Of IMDA, wrote a note saying “Congratulations on winning this year; it was one of your best entries ever and the production personnel

should be very proud of their craftsmanship”.

The winning closure was manufactured at Silgan White Cap LLC’ Evansville, IN plant. The closure is comprised of 6 colors incorporating 4 coating passes and 6 prints to create the beautiful peasant girl. To be the best in closure lithography requires a combination of technology and craftsmanship. Silgan’s closure plants continue to have that winning combination.

Silgan White Cap LLC also has one of, if not the best, Design Services Department in our Industry.
